Department Overview

The Department of Civil Engineering at Sree Sastha Institute of Engineering and Technology,  Chembarambakam was started in the year 2002 with an intake of 30 with the approval of AICTE and the  intake was increased to180 in the year 2011 along with 2 post graduate programs with an intake of 18  each. The department was accredited by NBA in the year (2016). Within a short period of time the department  has taken the concrete shape in carrying out the academic and non-curricular activities in an effective  way.

B.E. Civil Engineering

Our Bachelor of Engineering in Civil Engineering program offers a comprehensive curriculum that blends theoretical knowledge with practical skills in design, construction, and maintenance of infrastructure. Students gain expertise in areas such as structural analysis, geotechnical engineering, transportation systems, environmental engineering, and water resources. M.E. Construction Engineering and Management

The M.E. Construction Engineering and Management program is designed to develop professionals skilled in managing construction projects efficiently and sustainably. The course covers project planning, cost estimation, contract management, quality control, and construction technology. Students learn to optimize resources, apply innovative construction methods, and ensure safety and compliance standards. This program equips graduates to lead large-scale infrastructure projects and improve productivity in the construction sector.

M.E. Structural Engineering

The M.E. Structural Engineering program focuses on advanced concepts in structural analysis, design, and construction of buildings, bridges, and other infrastructures. Students delve into finite element methods, earthquake-resistant design, and materials engineering. The program emphasizes research and innovation, preparing graduates to develop safe, durable, and efficient structures. Graduates are well-prepared for careers in structural design firms, consulting, research, and academia.
